Process

The interview process was pretty standard. It began with a quick chat with HR to determine if I was a good fit for the role and to confirm details from my resume. This was followed by a coding test, which included four problems: JDBC, JMS, Bad Code, and Collection of Collections. The goal was to answer either the JDBC or Collection of Collections questions. Bad Code was mandatory, and JMS was optional. The timeframe for this test was six hours from start to submission.

Once this was successful, a technical phone interview followed to assess my knowledge of Java, Agile, Databases, SQL, and XML.

The next step was an on-site, face-to-face interview with the manager, team leader, and solution architect. The initial conversation with the manager focused on my understanding of the company, my reasons for choosing Guidewire, and why they should hire me, followed by a few technical questions. Next, there was a purely technical session with coding problems and whiteboarding. Finally, I spoke with the solution architect, who provided more information about the company, the role, and a product demo.

At last, I met with the HR representative who discussed benefits and salary.

Overall, it was a very positive experience.
