I generally hesitate to write reviews, but this had to be shared. It was one of the worst and lengthiest interview experiences I have ever had.

The total interview process was almost 9 hours.

First of all, I was reached out by a recruiter, and I had never heard of Guidewire before, so I never applied. A follow-up interview was scheduled with the Sr. Director (around 1 hour) immediately after the recruiter call. I didn't feel the JD aligned with my current role or what I am looking for in my next job, but I thought of giving it a try.

I cleared that round and was given a Codility challenge (2 hours). After clearing that, I had another 1-hour interview with a Principal Software Engineer. It was more situational than technical; I had never experienced that kind of interview for an average company.

The next day, it was followed by a 4-hour interview with a panel. Each part was a "masterpiece" experience. I was asked questions totally unrelated to the position, some technical, but some were completely off track.

Another coding round involved connecting to the interviewer's remote machine, which was super slow and irritating. To top that, the interviewer didn't seem to have any idea of the question and was unable to answer mine. I had to figure things out by looking at the test cases.

After that, I was told to do one more round of interviews, scheduled for 45 minutes at an odd hour. It went until 1 hour, and I was asked to code on a platform that kept throwing errors, even without adding my code.

Finally, I heard back that they had finalized on someone else.

Don't waste your time on this company. I wish someone had told me this before; it could have saved me time and effort.

Even the interviewers don't know what they ask. So try your luck if you have a lot of time to waste.
