Pros: Lots of talented developers. An actually useful review process. A fun environment. Good forums for feedback to management. The CEO responds to email. Developers are treated well. Working at home for part of the time is okay. Teamwork is highly valued. There are opportunities to get trained, and a lot of people form study groups. Everybody is very collegial and helpful; if you ask for help, they won't leave you until the problem is solved.

Cons: No free lunch – it is a bit of a pain to get lunch every day. There is a bit of a separation between the dev and the non-dev parts. Not a lot of mixing is going on; the devs actually work in a separate building. The good management sometimes leads to inflexible budgets. Everything is planned, and if you want to add something later, there has to be a real good explanation.

Pros: Collegiality - friendly, helpful people, plenty of social events. Was one of the best workplaces when I joined. Great new CEO and Head of PD. Transparency. Office.

Cons: Inability to prioritize. The big picture of the product is incomplete. Lack of accountability. For example, if some devs don't like to QA and if you hint at it, you get into trouble. Integrity. Feedback is king, but not double-checked properly. Taking positions without hearing you.

Pros: Nice culture, friendly and helpful co-workers, and great benefits. I passed the interview with Google, and I was waiting for Google to reply to me about their decision for the Summer internship. However, Guidewire offered me first with comparable benefits, and they had a limited time for me to answer them, so I decided to go with them. It was the best decision of my life. I was mentored by two experienced engineers who taught us a lot about the Software Development process. The manager would meet me every week to ask about what I felt about the company, teach me about management, and chat with me about anything. They also have an awesome internship program where we could meet and have lunch with the CEO, Product Manager, Test Manager, etc., to hear about their experiences. They also have free snacks and bagels every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, which made me gain a lot of weight. Overall, I highly recommend Guidewire.

Cons: None of my friends know about Guidewire.
