Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

November 1, 2020
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Initial phone call Take-home assignment

6-hour virtual onsite interview with different team members, which included:

  • Architecture design
  • Modifications in the take-home assignment
  • Questions related to values and motivations
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Talk with the hiring manager

A waste of 6 hours, I would say.

If you are well-prepared and sure to get selected, then go for it. Otherwise, no.

They should at least take one technical round and then decide whether to proceed to the next rounds instead of wasting time.

Questions

  1. Embolden String

  2. Software architecture for messaging app
