Process
Stage 1 (3hr coding assignment)
- Pull from API, then sort through the data, and then POST back.
- Make sure you know how to GET and POST to an API before starting.
- You can use any language you want.
Stage 2 (Recruiter call)
- A quick 15-minute call where you answer behavioral questions such as a time you failed, when you had to give feedback to a co-worker, or when you had a conflict with a co-worker.
- Make sure you're able to explain what HubSpot is and why you want to work there.
Stage 3 (1hr System Design & 1hr Coding)
- For system design, practice and have a template for how to answer the question (YouTube videos).
- For coding, know how to write test cases and calculate the time complexity of your algorithm.
- The actual coding question is easy, so try to optimize and test your solution and talk through your thought process.

Pros: Unlike a lot of other bigger companies, HubSpot has a product & engineering team in Dublin that does real work. Core components of their business are developed here; it's not just some satellite office that does reliability.
They have very good pay, good benefits, a very nice office, and just an all-round great team here.
Cons: Ever since it's gone public and as the company has grown, a little bit of corporate-ness has been creeping in. The "startup" feeling is slowly leaving the company. People are in place to try to combat that, but there's a limit to how much they can really do.
