Pros: I was completely integrated into a team at HubSpot. I was able to work out of the same job board that the other developers were working on and directly impact the projects and goals the team had.
Cons: I was the only intern on my team, and the issues that I was working on were independent projects.
On top of this, the internship was remote, so it consisted of me working independently without much communication with others for the majority of the internship.

Autonomy Drives Impact And Growth

Pros: Tons of autonomy. If you are smart and driven, you can both make an impact and grow a ton as an engineer. There are teams working across a wide spectrum of initiatives and opportunities to move around. The focus is on results, which is something you have a lot of control over.
Cons: There are at times some growing pains, as HubSpot is constantly growing quickly and needing to adapt. We don't always get it right, but management cares a lot and is always looking to improve.
