Good benefits. Ok salary. Generally nice people. Ok tech if you’re in a good team.
If your team is not creating something from scratch, you just end up coding the same old ‘for loops’ all the time, with little exposure to real architecture or DevOps.
Performance reviews and goal setting 4 times a year seems too much of a pain.
Unpaid on-calls.
Work outside of Dublin business hours required.
(All the above might have changed since, as there was a load of re-org.)
Overall, I enjoyed the interview process and had a good time meeting everyone. I applied to HubSpot online at the end of September and didn't hear back until 3-4 weeks later, around the middle to end of October. First, I had a call with a recruiter.
At the beginning, it was going well, but then it started going in circles. I lost communication with my recruiter for weeks. Then the recruiter got back to me asking if I was still interested. I went through the next round of interviews. But again,
OA -> Recruiter Screen -> Final Round (2 1hr sessions). Aced the first interview (DSA) and did pretty well on the second (JS), but still didn't get an offer. Guess since the process is relatively easy, they expect perfection.
