The interview process began with a phone screening, followed by an on-site interview. At the on-site, there were many other interviewees. Nevertheless, the interviews were all conducted one-on-one, and candidates were called in as needed. Although my role was for software engineering, most of the other interviewees were for designer positions.
There were also sessions where candidates could speak with IBM recruiters. These recruiters mingled with those who were not currently in a one-on-one interview. I was called in by two individuals, presented my projects, and left with a positive impression.
During my initial conversation with the recruiter, they inquired about my salary requirements. After I stated them, the recruiter said, "No problem, that would make you a Level 9." However, when the offer was extended, it was for Level 8 and significantly less than my current salary. I even submitted a counteroffer, which was closer to their initial offer, believing the role would be a valuable career move. Unfortunately, they never responded to my counteroffer.
