Trusting Autonomy, Initial Lostness
Software Developer Coop • Former Employee
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
August 30, 2017
Pros: After assessing your skills, they'll give you a project you can take on and own. They gave me a problem and the freedom to solve it in the manner I chose. It was intimidating, but I appreciated the level of trust, and it was an amazing learning opportunity.
Cons: I was given a lot of autonomy. I was a little lost at first. They didn't give much guidance, so I got what I put into my work. If you don't know when to ask for help, they won't tell you. This was the team's first co-op, so they didn't have much experience.

Pros: A very friendly and helpful team. They hold daily scrum meetings.
Cons: Not much mentorship. Job work isn't too advanced since we are only co-ops.
