After assessing your skills, they'll give you a project you can take on and own. They gave me a problem and the freedom to solve it in the manner I chose. It was intimidating, but I appreciated the level of trust, and it was an amazing learning opportunity.
I was given a lot of autonomy. I was a little lost at first. They didn't give much guidance, so I got what I put into my work. If you don't know when to ask for help, they won't tell you. This was the team's first co-op, so they didn't have much experience.
Keep up the good work. Co-ops know the difference between trivial and non-trivial tasks, and giving them real opportunities made a great first impression. I would recommend working at IBM in Ottawa to anyone.
Applied through their official website. Received a mail to choose a date from the given options. The interview consisted of almost technical questions. Received an offer and accepted it.
Single-round interview, lasting approximately 30-45 minutes. Interviewers were very laid back and did not ask any technical questions. Heard back from them within two weeks with an offer. Proceeded to fill out tons of paperwork.
I applied through the IBM Careers website and received an email inviting me for an interview. The interview was mostly behavioral. We discussed my projects and some of the technologies I had experience with. I received an offer within two weeks.
