IBM has one of the best work-life balances compared to other companies. They provide flexible work from home, an AMEX card, reimbursements for company expenses, comp off, flexible hours, cabs, a good canteen, and good, fast laptops. If you don't fall into office politics and do your thing, you will make real good friends in IBM.
The salary hike is very slow. And it takes years of bootlicking to get a promotion.
Most people are just sitting on a virtual bench, where you are part of the project but there is hardly anything that you are contributing or learning. The growth curve is negative. Lot of office politics and people pretending to be busy when they are actually just browsing the net till 8pm.
I had three levels in the interview process. The first was an aptitude test where we were given questions, and candidates were selected on the basis of a cut-off percentage. The second was a technical interview where they checked technical skills.
These people are just wasting candidates' time in the name of hiring. All those who are giving negative reviews about the IBM hiring process are right. Please don't waste your time with these people; they have no plans to hire.
There will be two technical rounds and one HR round. 1. Oops concepts, collections, and threads. 2. Coding, where we were asked to write logic using the Streams API. 3. HR round.
