Once you join the company, you shouldn't be expecting any career progress for the next 3 to 4 years. It might even take more than 5 years if you are not asking for it.
If you are planning to stay with the company for long, IBM is not for you. I do not see IBM taking care of their employees in terms of allocated bonuses, salary hikes, or career progressions. I'm not talking about one year; this culture has been continuing for almost the last 10 years.
In IBM, the manager is god; whatever he/she says is right.
There is salary discrimination within all the bands and no job satisfaction.
Forget financial stability. There are no timely promotions or yearly hikes, even after great dedication or commitment towards work.
Only higher band (above band 7) people enjoy all the success.
There is no way to compare IBM remuneration with market standards, and sure, employees die poor!
Management only cares about client delivery, but not their employees. I do not see IBM taking care of its long-timers on timely progression or giving timely hikes.
Never focusing on internal talents, IBM is happy to hire people with low skill sets externally with very high salaries.
Joined as a fresher in an off-campus drive. Had five rounds of interviews: Aptitude written Java written GD Technical interview HR interview The GD topic was "Honesty is the best policy." Got an offer on the same day.
These people are just wasting candidates' time in the name of hiring. All those who are giving negative reviews about the IBM hiring process are right. Please don't waste your time with these people; they have no plans to hire.
The interview is normal and questions are related to Java, microservices, and AWS. The questions are based on issues faced and real-time scenarios. One must tell about real-life experience and issues faced in software development.
