Pros
  • Offers a good amount of salary at first, but in the coming years, it gives a very small salary increase where the inflation rate is greater than this.
  • Manageable workload and stress.
Cons
  • Very small annual increase.
  • Encourages employees to take training that can't be used in their current project role.
  • Cannot enjoy leaves/holidays whenever desired due to utilization goals that have significant effects on performance ratings.
  • No retirement plan provided.
Advice to Management
  1. Salary increase that employees can feel and a retirement plan. The inflation rate is greater than your percentage of salary increase. Being compensated enough will surely boost the productivity of an employee. Don't let your employees choose to look for new opportunities outside IBM where they can achieve their expected salaries.

  2. Permanent WFH setup. We're an IT company, and we should utilize technologies. We can surely work and deliver the needed results even if we work at home. Working from home does provide a lot of benefits.

  3. Let your employees enjoy their leaves and holidays. Nowadays, we can't use them whenever we want due to the utilization goal. And please remove it as a major factor in performance rating.

  4. Don't force your employees to take learnings/trainings that can't be applied to their current role.

If possible, I would suggest that employees have an option to take a part-time role (with additional pay) to apply newly gained skills or enhance their skills that can't be used in the current project.
