Motivating job: IBM gives interesting challenges that you won't find in some companies.
Flexibility: You can work from home or even from another country.
Collaboration tools: Working at IBM gives you the chance to use many collaboration tools such as Sametime, Rational Team Concert, and e-Meetings.
Salary and benefits: decent salary and benefits.
- Lack of structure. Our team didn't apply most of the techniques proposed by agile and other processes. We didn't even have iterations.
- Management is mostly composed of non-technical employees.
- Lack of communication between management, marketing, development, user experience, and testing. Every department is isolated from the other.
- Microsoft offers a better salary.
Involve more employees in decisions. Talk more to employees. Get to know them. Rarely did I have the chance to see or talk to the senior manager.
