Pros

IBM does have all the "perks" of working for a big company. It's still the largest technology company in the world, so there are few things that it isn't involved in.

If you are unsure of exactly what you want to do or you like to explore all aspects of technology, it is fairly easy to move around (usually with some planning ahead 6-12 mo) and may have the opportunity to work and learn with some of the experts or juggernauts in each field, tackling some of the largest/complex problems.

Cons

All the cons of a big company: so there can be a lot of politics, red tape, and freeloaders around.

Advice to Management

If you want your employees to be happy, make sure there is personal empowerment and motivation.

Employees can easily get drowned or lost in big groups.
