Pros
  • Able to touch multiple levels of code.
  • Write code designed to scale for millions of users.
  • Hours are generally 40 per week.
  • The company really tries to make you succeed and have you learn.
  • Watson Health is trying to solve hard, interesting, and good problems.
  • The office is in an amazing location (for Cambridge, MA).
Cons
  • No food (yet?)
  • A lot of audio conferencing, with a small push to video conferencing.
  • A lot of young engineers, lacking senior engineers.
  • Slow moving (healthcare has a lot of red tape).
Advice to Management

Invest in food.

Push hard for video conferencing everywhere, to the point it's an anomaly to see an audio conference (at least for the engineers). This is important since the teams can be so spread out geographically.
