Looks good on a CV.

Cons

The constant rounds of redundancies and offshoring have sapped morale at this company. Never have I worked at a company where the fear factor is so pervasive. The offshoring mantra is so embedded that nobody will raise an objection, even though it just leads to more work being piled on the onshore team as the offshore teams are never up to the task. Management will cover this up. It all adds up to client dissatisfaction and losing contracts, which starts another round of redundancies and offshoring – a vicious circle.

All in all, I have not worked at a company with less respect for their employees by management.

Advice to Management

There is no real way to arrest the decline in IBM, as it's so big. Changing the culture now is a massive task. They are losing contracts to smaller, more nimble players and are filling companies with disgruntled ex-IBMers who'll never award them contracts.
