For me, there are many positive views for IBM.
Only one thing that I feel is a con is the hike and promotion. The promotion cycle varies and once you are eligible, managers will take more than a year to give you that increased amount. In the case of a hike also, after COVID, I am still not able to find the hike cycle. But I feel this will be resolved.
The hike cycle is not followed properly. The main thing is that it is not communicated to the employees correctly. Many times we are not sure when it is going to happen (basically after COVID).
For promotion, if an employee is eligible, then it should be properly told to them by when they will get the increased salary. Basically, clear communication should be present.
The hiring process was simple. The first round was a technical round, where we had an in-depth discussion on all the projects I have worked on. The HR round was for salary discussion.
These people are just wasting candidates' time in the name of hiring. All those who are giving negative reviews about the IBM hiring process are right. Please don't waste your time with these people; they have no plans to hire.
The interview was nice and well-structured. I received questions on Object-Oriented Programming concepts, C++, and more. Questions from MATLAB were also asked. Overall, the interview questions were moderately difficult.
