Process

The interview process began with a phone screen focusing on management skills.

This was followed by a CoderPad interview to solve a relatively simple data problem.

Next, an 80-minute HackerRank test required solving a problem.

Subsequently, there was one day of on-site interviews.

The first interview was a 45-minute resume deep dive.

This was followed by a 90-minute management skills interview.

Lunch was then scheduled with potential future peers.

Following lunch, a mock interview was conducted with an Indeed employee.

There was a mock interview debrief with two engineering managers to assess hiring potential.

This was followed by a code review exercise.

An architecture interview was then conducted.

Finally, a whiteboard coding interview took place.

All of the interviews were straightforward and, quite honestly, not too difficult for me. The exceptions were the code review (they only offered a choice of three languages, so ensure you review one of Indeed's core languages) and the whiteboard interview. The latter was challenging mostly because the interviewer kept interrupting to ask for clarifications on my design, which, in my opinion, was superior to his own.
