I was contacted by an inside recruiter for the specific position while I happened to be looking at a couple of other places already. The initial round was via Karat, which was fast-paced but straightforward.

I was set up the next day with a day-long interview a week and a half later. This interview had a variety of sessions, including solving problems on a whiteboard, a mock code review, a data design task, and a fully-automated programming exercise on HackerRank. I also spoke with the hiring manager about the position.

I really liked all the people I interviewed with. The problems were not easy, but they weren't overly tricky either. I could imagine I might have gotten stuck on any of the problems in the interview, but they all happened to click, and I received lots of good signs about the position and Indeed.

I heard back a few days later with the official offer. I was interviewing elsewhere in Austin at a company I didn't actually want to work for, but I suspected would give a competitive offer. They passed on me, so I asked for more salary. I ended up getting a larger bonus, which made it a nice increase from my previous compensation at another Austin tech company. The interview got me really excited to work in the position and be a part of Indeed, so I accepted and have been very glad I did.
