Software Engineer Interview Experience - Singapore

June 15, 2015
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The process began with a 2-hour online coding competition on Topcoder. This was followed by a 30-minute screening, and then three 1-hour interviews.

Ultimately, I did not receive an offer, and no explanation was provided. This was surprising, as I provided optimal O(n) or constant time solutions to all three problems without assistance.

There were some communication issues due to my location in China, resulting in connection problems on my end, although they reported no issues. They repeatedly stated the connection was fine, subtly suggesting I might be fabricating the solutions. I struggled to even type code on CollabEdit due to frequent disconnections.

In my opinion, the interviewers were somewhat aggressive. Overall, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this experience. I suggest trying Google instead.
