Front End Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

30-minute video call with an engineer diving into JavaScript mechanics.

Passed with flying colors, but the interviewer was 30 minutes late for a 30-minute interview.

Second phase is where it went wrong. I was supposed to have a 30-minute call with a product manager, followed by a 1.5-hour technical challenge.

What I ended up having was a 1.5-hour screening first. The interviewer seemed lost as to what kind of challenge to give me.

They were also having microphone issues, and their audio was very low and difficult to hear.

I had to create a React app followed by a vague explanation of what they wanted me to build. Asking clarifying questions seemed to upset the interviewer.

They told me to reschedule the second interview with the product manager. I reached out to reschedule; however, I received a rejection email 30 minutes after reaching out.
