Process

Discussion with recruiter and several phone interviews. The interview process is as usual but very inefficient. They don't have any calendar, so there was several back and forth to schedule. Also, one interview was at 8:30 PM.

I was interviewed by 4 engineers (other than recruiters). IMO, all went well. However, one particular interviewer was extremely unprofessional. At the end, he asked if I had any questions, which I answered "yes" and asked the question. His reply was, "This is a great question, I guess you'll ask the same question to other interviewers..." I was like, "WHAT?" but I replied while gently laughing (to just ease the situation), "I am not sure if I'm going to ask other interviewers the same question." Well, I may or may not, and I believe it's okay to ask the same questions to different members of the team to get individual perspectives. Don't different interviewers ask the same questions to interviewees? But the point is his how and why he predicts/judges that! However, after I challenged his "judgement," he softened it like, "... (next person) will be a better person to reply to this question." At that point, I decided I will be very critical of this team.

However, the next person was extremely cool and professional. Also, he gave me a chance to ask questions before he could ask me and wanted to re-schedule another meeting for his questions if my questions took the whole session.

However, after the 4th interview, they decided not to move forward with me as they're hiring someone else. So, hiring someone else was fine, but I'm not sure whether that's a generic response or not; there is no way to confirm. IMO, I couldn't correctly respond to 100% of the questions, but I've done fairly well. So, I will just take it that they found someone with better skills/knowledge.
