Pros

Too big to fail...for now.

Cons

I was tagged 'retain' because I was too important to be released in any of the annual RIFs (Reduction In Force -- departments are forced to get rid of some people to meet an arbitrary headcount whether they're good or not).

It took people threatening to quit for me to get my first promotion at 15 years. I left after 20 years and my salary had 92% of the buying power of my hire salary.

When I announced my plans to leave, not my manager, nor his manager, nor HIS manager had the pull to offer me a retention package.

You will never meet the person who decides your raises/bonuses, and they will never know who you are or your actual value to the company.

Jamie Dimon is on a power trip; check for 'Dimon obscene' -- he cursed out the entire company as lazy immediately after praising the company (not employees) for making a $55 billion profit last year, seventh highest in the world.

Leave after 2-3 years. You'll get the feel for working at an enormous company, but you don't want to stay.

Advice to Management

Hire some leaders, not just managers.
