Pros
  • Pretty decent pay and stable work given the job market in Austin.
  • Team is pleasant to work with.
  • Very nice, upscale new office downtown with an open floor plan.
Cons
  • Pretty rough crunch culture around deadlines.
  • Weirdly focused on the number of days worked in office.
  • Very outdated tech stack.
  • Often times, rejections to ideas around improvements are met with "that's just the way things are."
Advice to Management
  • Cut down on pointless cross-department meetings—the worst I've ever encountered.
  • Focus less on micromanaging in-office hours.
  • Empower your teams to explore novel solutions more.
  • Avoid phrases like "consider yourselves lucky" when delivering bad news about crunch time.
