SRE department head was fired due to office politics.
Anyone with actual internal domain knowledge was either laid off or left the company.
You will be on call every other week due to attrition and inability to hire new talent, most likely due to low compensation packages.
Oh, and the company is experimenting with a hiring freeze until at least the end of 2026. Yikes.
Pay your employees more if you don’t intend to backfill the roles of people laid off or who have left. It’s ridiculous to expect quality work with half the amount of engineers with no change in employee compensation.
