Pros
  • Peers
  • Bonuses when you get them
  • You learn what bad management looks like so you know what not to do as a manager.
Cons
  • Awful work life balance (Use and abuse with no recognition or adjusted compensation)
  • Long hours
  • Miss a lot of time with your family (If a hard worker you get tasked with more work and if not you get rewarded with a good work life balance)
  • Unfair Pay (New Hires make more than existing associates)
  • Below industry standards time off
  • Below industry standards 401k
  • Minimal merit increases (2% and 3% if lucky)
  • You have to build your fake brand. (Hard work, dedication and personal sacrifices don’t count, it has to be fake)
  • Don’t do true engineering work (Work done could be done by someone off the streets with 1 week of training)
  • You are just a number or a dirty old shoe (Whatever they preach it is the opposite and they truly don’t care about you)
  • Constant directional change (1 year LMS work another Automation)
  • No clear cut roadmap of planned work
  • No work is ever closed and boomerangs right back in a short amount of time
  • Engineering is the only group held accountable (Other departments are not held accountable, which makes it hard to implement any changes)
  • Engineering is the do it all group (Blamed for all problems and has to solve all problems)
  • Endless unless non-value added meetings
Advice to Management

Practice what you preach, value current employees the same way you do new employees, pay current employees the same you pay new employees, listen to feedback that your teams are giving you, stop the micromanaging, control the ridiculous work demand, be servant leaders and show appreciation for the hard work each associates contributes (this goes a long way).
