Staff Firmware Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

A recruiter reached out to me about the role, and it sounded interesting. I had a chat with the recruiter to go over some expectations, such as the level of the position and rough salary expectations. Then, I talked to the hiring manager and got a better feel for what the team did.

There was no technical phone screen, but an online coding challenge, followed by an onsite interview.

The onsite consisted of:

  • One coding round
  • Two experience rounds
  • Two design rounds

Nothing too out of the ordinary. I enjoyed talking to the people.

Questions

Standard interview questions:

  • LeetCode style for the coding round (difficulty: easy/medium)
  • Domain-specific questions for the design rounds.
