Process

Writing this review for an initial technical screen so it helps others. You should be good at reading questions fast and grasping what to write.

The SQL questions I encountered mostly revolved around books, copies, and authors, with about 4 to 5 schemas. Python questions were similar to the SQL ones; for me, they were library-related for both SQL and Python.

For SQL, get comfortable writing queries by looking at schemas, even without expected output or sample data. You won't have time to examine each table's data. Questions mostly involved aggregations with joins, especially counts and percentages.

LeetCode Python practice won't help much. Understand common data structures like lists, tuples, sets, and hashmaps, along with their associated functions. Consider practicing StrataScratch Python questions instead of LeetCode. This is because the Python questions are also like business use cases, lengthy, and take time to read and become comfortable writing code.

Questions

SQL - How many books are in good condition and not returned? What percentage of book copies for the above statement have been renewed more than 2 times?

Python - Given a list of tuples with book category and points, find the maximum number of points a student can score for up to 3 books. The books must belong to different categories.
