The recruiter and everyone involved in setting up the phone interview were great. The interviewer was nice as well, but I felt misled.
I was asked two questions. I got through the first one quickly and then was asked a second. I realized I was going about the solution incorrectly but figured out the best way to do it with five minutes left and described it. The interviewer agreed that was the best solution. I told him I could probably code the correct solution in the remaining five minutes, but he said we could just chat about working at FB. He added that since it was just the first phone screen, I didn't have to code the correct solution, and he was happy I figured it out.
A day later, the recruiter told me I didn't get past the first phone screen. Then why didn't the interviewer just let me finish?
