Good in Pittsburgh

Pros: High salary and low cost of living in Pittsburgh.
Cons: Fewer perks compared to MPK, SEATTLE.

Amazing Coworkers, Risky Employment
Software Engineer • Current Employee
Seattle, Washington, United States
November 9, 2022
Pros: Severance was 4 months, which is amazing. Two months of "still an employee" meant my visa status was fine. My coworkers were amazing people; coming to work was a blast.
Cons: You can get spontaneously laid off. Internal communication from leadership is incredibly bad and/or misleading. Work-life balance can get bad. The internal communication tool, Workplace, creates a very competitive and sometimes toxic working culture.

Good pay and benefits, but not very fulfilling work
Software Engineer • Current Employee
San Francisco, California, United States
October 17, 2022
Pros: Good pay and benefits, flexible schedule, and lots of freedom.
Cons: Probably spent 5% of my time coding. The rest was spent in XFN reviews that should have been handled by PMs. iOS infra is pretty weak.
It's painfully slow to build anything, which is sort of to be expected but takes a toll on morale.
