There was a phone screen that lasted under 30 minutes, followed by a day on the Seattle campus. The day included an hour-long interview, a campus tour, and lunch. When I went, there were five other people going through the process with me on the same day.

Great Company, Proprietary Tech

Pros: Great company to work in.
Cons: A lot of technologies used in the company are internal to it. So you might not find a use for them if you end up leaving the company.

Bottoms-up culture makes for easy operation

Pros: Once you figure out the culture, it’s very easy to get things done at Meta. While middle management is very fear-driven and incremental in their explicit direction, they will never punish you for making them look good in a way they didn’t mandate. Figure out what the business actually needs, go do it, and get rewarded.
Cons: Product engineers can’t plan anything, especially multi-half work. It’s a sad sight.

Smart people, hard work

Pros: really really smart people if you get on the right team. Some teams are full of coasters and people doing busy work, but it's easy to figure out.
It seems like promotion is fairly available.
Cons: Watch out for teams that are completely homogenous – everyone from the same country, everyone speaks the same language, etc. Also, if your manager doesn't champion you, or you do not have a mentor, you will not be promoted. Also, expect long hours.
