Process
It's a pretty standard but difficult interview process for a technical job like software engineer or software developer.
It will include a background interview with non-developers, as well as a technical or programming interview to show your skills.

Great environment, people, and tech
Software Engineer • Current Employee

Pros: Great work environment, awesome people, and many opportunities for learning technologies in-depth. There's lots of leeway given to engineers to work on areas that they believe are important.
Benefits are awesome.
Cons: Hours are entirely flexible, so it is up to employees to keep their work-life balance in check.
I'm at a remote site, so I will occasionally need to stay late for meetings with other places. This happens to me about once a month.

Smart Team, Unstable Employment
Software Engineer • Former Employee

Pros: brand, money, quite smart people around.
Cons: No matter how much you deliver, no matter how passionate you are about the job you are doing, you might be terminated for a random reason your manager might think of.

Meta ain't the old Facebook

Pros: - You get to work on some apps that everyone uses.
- Internal tooling is good, but this can be a con, as this doesn't translate to industry standards.
- Compensation and benefits.
- Office is cool, I guess (but you rarely have time to enjoy it).
Cons: Culture has quickly soured since the start of 2025, and it's gotten real bad real fast.
Management is very opaque about decisions, especially when it comes to people (firings/layoffs/benefit cuts/etc.).
Performance reviews? Just Google "PSC Meta" and read up on it.
