Software Engineering Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts
Process
I got an interview through a connection. It was one of my first interviews, and overall, it was a very standard experience (after working through some other interviews, I got the feel for it).
After some basic fit questions, I was given two technical interview questions. The interviewer was somewhat helpful in working me through the problems.

- 4.0Good place to workSoftware Engineering • Current EmployeeMenlo Park, California, United StatesJune 22, 2017Pros: Nice and passionate people. Lots of work for engineers. Many opportunities. Many supports for employees. Many of the employees are smart.Cons: Normally busy. Inexperienced engineers sometimes lead the project, which causes a mess. People move too fast and break things, which is not good from an engineering perspective.
- 5.0Fast-paced With Team FlexibilitySoftware Engineering • Former EmployeeMenlo Park, California, United StatesJuly 8, 2015Pros: Fast-moving, good benefits. The hours aren't as awful as some tech companies (looking at you, Palantir). Lots of flexibility to move teams, etc.Cons: It's hard to stand out from everyone else. There are a lot of talented people around with often the same ideas.
- 5.0Five years of being given tons of opportunities to build new things and learnSoftware Engineering • Current EmployeeMarch 22, 2012Pros: You are given a lot of freedom to solve tough problems. You are expected to make mistakes and learn from them in order to get better and solve tougher problems.Cons: Sometimes the pace of work can be insane. Lots of moving parts at the same time means lots of opportunities for things to go wrong.
