Pros: I felt very supported by my managers.
Cons: It's both a pro and a con, but it felt like you needed to justify to engineering leadership why documentation is important by providing metrics. It was definitely a more data-driven approach, but there are some benefits to documentation that are difficult to quantify.

Pros: Awesome software tooling.
Everything is flat and easy to access.
The company is truly bottom-up.
It's easy to find your own path.
Cons: Cult of the CEO. It makes the all-hands terrible.

Custom Tools, Poor Support

Pros: The money is very good.
Cons: Meta uses all of their own custom software tools, so:
A.) everything is broken and super difficult to use.
B.) when you do manage to learn a tool, it's totally worthless information outside of Meta.
Contingent workers are isolated and treated very differently from full-timers.
Contingent workers aren't given access to vital hardware for their work.
The research team has no direction whatsoever, and research leads have no idea what they're doing.
