I was hired as a rotational engineer and got an offer to become an IC4. I was unaware of the policy that you need to get promoted within 36 months or otherwise you're fired. I decided to take a position that required a large ramp-up instead of taking a position I was fluent in.
I ended up learning about the required promotion a few months before entering the "red zone", and my manager basically told me I would not get promoted.
The interview process covers classic LeetCode problems, system design, and behavioral questions. It's quite easy to master with some practice, as the questions tend to be repetitive. After passing the interviews, the recruiters were incredibly rude.
It was the initial interview. It was a coding interview on a platform with a shared screen with the interviewer. It was around 45 minutes, half Python and half SQL. The interviewer was super helpful. Difficulty was medium.
