Pros
  • Great benefits
  • Okay work/life balance, depending on team, project, and political ties
  • Telecommuting is an acceptable practice
  • Good experience if you have a good manager
Cons

You are merely a number to leadership, and you'd do well to never forget that.

Good management practices are not rewarded but even discouraged.

Upper management is completely disconnected from front-line businesses.

The performance management system has little to do with real performance.

HR bows to the army of lawyers. Good luck getting support or even a straight answer from anyone if there is ever a problem with your employment.

Advice to Management

Stop being so risk-averse and be more honest. Spend more time valuing employees rather than blaming them for your leadership mistakes. That's why we're getting beat in the marketplace.
