You get to learn a lot early on. A 9-to-5 job will usually see you achieve or exceed at Microsoft. Work-life balance is great.
Beyond senior onwards, soft skills are more important than raw talent. There can be lots of politics depending on the team you join. Try to stay away from consumer-facing teams. Microsoft won't continue to be a consumer company in the future.
