Pros

You work with super smart people on products that can really change people's lives. Microsoft also highly encourages volunteering outside of work. They will not only match your contribution dollar for dollar, but will also donate $ to the charities you work with for every hour you work there.

Cons

The review system encourages dog-eat-dog competition, even though the stated culture is teamwork and respect.

Your boss and coworkers will throw you under a bus at the first opportunity if they think they can gain the upper hand when it comes to review time.

Advice to Management

Abandon the current stack rank review model if you are really serious about valuing teamwork over hero-like behavior.
