First, I had a behavioral interview with some basic questions about me. (Mainly just to weed out candidates who are obviously not fit.)
This was followed by a 45-minute technical interview.

- Good work-life balance.
- As an intern, your mentors want you to succeed.
- Fellow interns and co-workers are great, and it feels like a small community.

Pros: MongoDB is an exciting, fast-paced, and growing company.
The technical work is probably some of the most interesting out there, and my colleagues are intelligent and a pleasure to work with.
The company emphasizes personal growth and cares about its employees' well-being.
This includes a genuine desire to do better with diversity.
Over my six years here, I have never been bored.
I feel like the projects I contribute to are moving the needle for the quality of the product, and I can see the products getting better every day.
Cons: With mostly annual releases, sometimes the pace of change can feel slow. Processes sometimes drag on, and robustness testing can be a productivity burden. The company still has a ways to go with diversity, as it seems every tech company does.

Pros: MongoDB is very well received by customers, so the sales experience overall is very rewarding. We learn a lot every day with a very talented technical team.
Cons: I understand that the company must change to adapt to a high-demanding market, especially in the technology industry, but sometimes some management decisions are detached from the customer-facing team's needs.
