Pros: This is my first workplace. I started as an intern, continued as a grad, and have been there for around 4.5 years. It's a great place for a first job and for juniors.

Cons: But not too much chance for a career. It is better to move on and seek for better opportunities, where you can work on up-to-date technologies. Cutting-edge technologies in the advert are just words, nothing valid.

Pros: Several significant pros to list here. There's good reason I spent 10+ years here: * The closest you can get to Wall Street dynamics here in Budapest. * Many excellent and skilled people in Technology. * Great overall philosophy about talent, career, growth, and diversity. * Superb location and office. * Good compensation if you are on a fairly senior (officer) level.

Cons: Some things to highlight here also: * Many cumbersome processes that can, at times, really frustrate Tech folks. Some have a good reason (e.g., regulation, transparency, etc.), others for more traditional/political reasons. * Tech tooling is developing but is still way behind the industry. You can often witness fanfared migrations onto technologies the world has been using for years. (Again, some of these lags come with a good reason, e.g., regulation, stability, security, and then many others come about because there's no time/personnel/budget to move ahead fast enough). * Compensation is not great for junior/mid-level talent. It seems as though packages don't progress as quickly as talent does. Talk about a 2-year developer being really productive already. That causes discrepancies between performance and reward and does ultimately contribute to massive junior turnover.

Pros: - Lots of learning opportunities. - Great people. - Onboarding latest technology. - Very good benefits: pension contribution, sport benefit, cafeteria, free e-learning and classroom trainings, Microsoft certifications. - Professional environment; you can find the experts within the company and ask for help or learn from them. - Lots of events: social and professional. - Opportunity to make an impact in important global projects. - Internal mobility, international mobility options (for good performers). - Meritocracy, very well-established promotion process. Promotion has great value and is celebrated. - Great networking opportunities. Do participate in trainings, volunteer events, social events, Toastmasters, etc. You will make lots of great friends.

Cons: Technical debt: * Some of the software and technologies are very legacy, with limited resources to upgrade. * Lots of hygiene work (e.g., version upgrades, mandated elimination of old technology). * Support may be hectic, e.g., when supporting a critical system, and sometimes there are no good resources or knowledge about legacy systems. * You need to find a good team and management. Work experience may be very different depending on this. * People staying with the firm for a long time will have salaries below the market due to lack of or inadequate salary increases.
