SRE/DevOps Engineer Interview Experience - Montreal, Canada

April 1, 2020
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interviewer kept trying and prying into past projects despite mentions of NDAs, as if he were trying to recreate the projects himself.

After I mentioned working with a Unix framework once, I was asked "What is Unix?" and to provide a thorough history and technical explanation of how Unix worked.

It felt like a police interrogation rather than a technical interview. The experience was so unpleasant that I almost felt sick afterward.

This behavior was extremely unprofessional and almost predatory, completely shattering my image of the company.

Questions

What is Unix?

Unix is an operating system.
