The interview process began with an initial phone screen by HR, followed by a phone screen with the hiring manager, and then an in-person interview.
The phone screens were quite generic, focusing on your background and experience.
The in-person interview with the engineers was great. However, the HR representative came across as a snob with a "holier than thou" attitude. She seemed to convey the impression that people were treated like work machines, and that if you do not perform, you are out the door the next day. While I had no issues with that policy, she herself did not seem smart enough to adopt such an attitude.

There is no career path for ICs who do not want to manage people.
