My advice: accept the job here. Get kicked out after half a year
Senior Software Engineer • Former Employee
Los Gatos, California, United States
May 5, 2011
Pros: Higher than industry average salary.
Cons: Read other reviews from former employees. Of all the people I worked with at the time, more than 80% were let go. Most of them were bright engineers.
My advice: If you are offered a position at Netflix, fight for the highest salary possible. In any case, expect to be fired soon. Maybe after a year, maybe sooner, maybe later.

Cons: Not well structured; leveling criteria changes frequently.

Politics Overshadows Engineering
Senior Software Engineer • Former Employee
Los Gatos, California, United States
August 23, 2020
Pros: Openness, freedom, some great colleagues, and pay. Great for mid- to senior engineers.
Cons: Politics everywhere. Only average engineering. Very good engineers can get fired for made-up, crappy reasons when their managers didn't like them for whatever reason. Very limited career growth for more senior engineers; it is much easier to grow as a manager, as higher engineering levels are extremely limited.
