Engineering Manager Interview Experience

Process

A recruiter reached out to me and then conducted a phone screen with the hiring manager. I told them, in the first place, that I don't want to spend time with a disrespectful company. The recruiter promised that they are not such a one and that they would revert immediately. Then, they set up a call with the hiring manager, who also gave me many stories about how nice the company is and how well they treat people.

I ended up being ghosted, with no response at all. If this is how they treat candidates, even for senior levels, then they need to revisit their hiring practices. Once you conduct an interview or phone screen, you NEED to let the candidate know the outcome because everyone invests their time, and people's time is valuable.

A one-liner email would suffice. However, if you cannot find the time to respond, that says a lot about you and your organization.

Don't waste your time on these crappy people.
