Association with a big brand name is a great pro of working at Nike. People know Nike and you don't need to explain what the company does.
You'll get a lot of sneakers at a discounted price.
If you're a sports fan, you'll love the overall culture.
Most of the benefits that were intended for employees are taken away. The food and transport is not free, and is less than average quality. Your check-in and check-out time is monitored. If you opt for Nike's transportation, you need to work from office during specific hours, and can't leave early even if you want to, while others will leave whenever they want.
The worst part about Nike India is its management at Director level. Nike somehow managed to get the worst directors for India Technology Centre. It doesn't matter in which domain you work, you're going to be working under bad leadership. Some directors are micromanagers and others are here just to enjoy their retirement and don't want to work at all. They won't take work and issues seriously. They mostly would be taking credit of others' work.
Another issue at Nike is career growth. The good employees are never promoted here. Promotions are given to only manager praisers. The work culture thus is very bad here. Great folks keep leaving the company, and the ones who are left are either not getting a job outside, or are too comfortable at the company since they don't have to work much here anyways.
You also don't get any freedom to raise your voice. If you make some post on any channel against the leadership, or any policy changes, you're asked to immediately remove the message. If you reach out to HR, they in turn will reach out to your manager, and there will be definite retaliation. The complete HR department is also being run by the Directors, so whatever you speak to them will reach your directors.
Get feedback regarding all Directors and Senior Directors in India and verify if they are what the company wants. Chances are that the root cause of the major problems being faced are due to bad leadership.
Two interviews were conducted: * First, a phone interview. * Second, an in-person interview. The first interview was more technical, while the second was a panel with three managers. The questions were more focused on who I am, what I know abou
According to HR, there are supposed to be three rounds: 1. Data Structure and Algo & hiring manager 2. Systems Design (High level) 3. Culture and fitment (I believe; I don't recollect very well)
Long and overburdened. Conducted by people who have no idea what they are doing. Overall easy, but make sure they like you. It seems like it's more of a first date than a real way to understand qualifications.
