Process

I applied online through Jobvite, and the process was smooth. The best thing about Nutanix is their HR team, which is quite responsive and considerable. The interview process depends on the location you are interviewing for. If it's local, they will ask you to come to the office. If it's remote, there will be multiple Skype rounds. For me, it was remote (Bangalore location).

I received a call from HR, and she told me about what they were looking for and what Nutanix is all about. The first round was scheduled within the same week.

My first round was via Skype. Since my background was mostly VMware, the first round circled around that topic. The interviewer was fantastic and made me feel comfortable. The questions were logical but involved deep dives into VMware topics, such as the exact purpose of log files and what each log file pertains to. All in all, it was a good experience. A person who knows VCP concepts in depth can clear it (45 minutes).

The second round was also via Skype and focused on networking and storage. This was one level up from the first round, so it involved more in-depth exploration of VMware, SAN, Fibre Channel, ports, etc. (40-50 minutes). This was a grilling round and tested my grasp of networking and storage.

The third round was a manager round, and it was based on managerial topics. However, it shouldn't be taken lightly.

Next came the onsite escalation round. This is where you have to cross the ocean with a tsunami in front. They will go deep and focus on the topics you have worked on, trying to test how good your knowledge is when it comes to practical applications. The round was for 30-40 minutes and was tough, like really tough. Be sure of your answers and be confident in what you know.

Then came the director round, and after that, the HR round. An offer was released within a week. As I said, the best part of Nutanix is the hiring department. They are really cool folks. Keep up the good work.
