I applied for this position online and received a phone call from the recruiter. They later scheduled a phone interview with the manager.

After the phone interview, there was a technical round with one of the senior reliability engineers. During the technical round, some questions asked were unfair and not relevant to the job position.

After a few days, I followed up with an email to the recruiter to know about the status. The recruiter called me with an update, saying that the team had decided not to move forward with me.

Why don't they follow up with candidates when they already know about the status? Also, the technical interviewer was least interested in taking the interview. When asked about the next steps, they said they would provide their feedback. If they already knew that they would not select me further, why didn't they say it during the interview itself?

Complete waste of time to wait for any updates later on.
