I had two technical interviews.
The first phone interview involved language-specific questions in C++. I didn't perform well on those questions, as I hadn't used C++ in about three years. After I mentioned my familiarity with C#, they attempted to draw parallels between C# and C++ to make the questions more accessible.
The second phone interview was with the team lead. They stated they prioritize learning skills and programming background over specific language knowledge. I was asked questions related to operating systems, computer architecture, and bit manipulation. There were also questions about my background, such as why I applied for the job (given it didn't perfectly align with my skillset), and a discussion of my shortcomings.
The interviewers were pleasant and did not make me feel overly discouraged, even when I couldn't answer half the questions. The hiring team responded promptly to my email. Overall, it was a good experience.
