Churning out products, searching for those bright spots
Oracle has been consistently profitable, which translates into a stable work environment. The pay and benefits are pretty good, and my co-workers are a very smart group of engineers.
Unfortunately, stability often feels like you are just a cog in a machine with limited ability to work on interesting projects.
Some parts of the company are poorly managed, with a disregard for accurate schedules, planning, or accountability.
Invest some time and money into making your employees feel more valuable.
If they are treated like they are easily replaced, they are going to head for greener pastures.
